Reds. Breathless. Windless. Cooking over the fire. All is good.

The morning was quiet as we approached the arches. And a sliver of light glanced off the top of the rock. Drawn into shades of red.

Through the eyes of the Condor
On the Condor hike. I sketched this location and painted a large version in my studio at home. My exhibition — INTO THE HEART—BIG SUR, will be on view at the Venture Gallery in Monterey, March 1—March 31. My reception is on March 4, from 3:30 — 6:30.
The Arch
Morning. Waiting for my paper to dry. Plants, soil and rock cling tenaciously to existence. Water slowly and relentlessly engaging in conversation about change. Working to erode stone monuments.
Mendocino headlands
This morning I painted, situated below the edge of the cliffs, avoiding some of the wind. Sounding waves, birds, wind and sun. Like one of the rocks eroding slightly.
